Help Need to go back a notch first

I did see the book polls but most of them are geared with review stuff but I seriously need to go back a notch first so not directly USMLE prepping.

Somehow I managed to get by basic sciences on the island... partied way too much and well, you know or may have heard how that is. I haven't started my clinicals yet, and I have enough time to do this properly again for the hope of better outcome in the future.

Besides the school pushing the USMLE for basic sciences instead of a regular curriculum I think more than half the class was just studying for the boards ever since day 1. I was looking at some of my friend's usmle review books and question banks online but it seemed like a lot of stuff is missing (for me at least). I really didn't read any textbooks while in basic sciences so I'm hoping to redeem myself properly somehow.

I was going to read : (feel free to make suggestions/corrections)

Physiology : Costanzo Textbook (not brs until later)
Pathology : ??? Not sure if Big Robbins will fit in, but I was thinking of combining Pathoma and Rapid Review Goljan -
Pharmacology : Katzung Review Lange book or Lippincott?
Microbiology : Micro Made Ridiculous
Biochemistry : not sure
Genetics : not sure
Neuroanatomy : High Yield Neuro and Neuroanatomy made easy??
Anatomy : not sure
Behavioral : not sure but HY behavioral

Do you think I could get by into clinical rotations and beyond with just a proper kaplan course and questions or should I stick to the plan above? From my understanding, falcon and kaplan are still missing a lot of things you should know pretty well outside the boards but I might be wrong.

I'm not sure if doing questions with the usmle review books alone will cover a lot of other things that could potentially help in the long run. I was going to start usmlerx with first aid somehow in this mix of regular books- only plan on taking the exam at this pace maybe in the fall of 2013 and start clinical rotations in January.

Can anyone relate or share some thoughts on what to do best in my situation? I really appreciate any advice. Thank you!!

edit : I think the toughest thing when I was looking at these usmle books was that I felt like there was a lot of memorizing for me rather than things naturally feeling right (not making sense I guess). Things like signs and symptoms for each disease seems like a laundry list of points, but I'm hoping something above will help me reason out better as to why some of these findings are correlating. I think that's a pathophysiology issue.

Thanks for your reply. Don't get me wrong, but I did try sitting there with some of the kaplan notes and videos with my classmates but there seemed to be a lot of basic info missing (I can't speak on everything) but I was looking at the physiology section and pharmacology sections as an example.

I still thought the notes were still fairly outlined with those videos. Will doing all three question banks (usmlerx + kap qbank + usmleworld) help fill all the missing gaps of basic science knowledge? I don't have any exam scheduled until later in the fall of 2013.

Doing Kap qbank with Uworld [main ] will more than cover the gap. don't expect to cover everything and retain it too in your first read ..
