Just take a deep breath. Relax. Get ur study materials. Study as much hours as u can per day depending on ur other commitment , u may be working etc.
Most people use Kaplan books Goljan pathology and FA .

How long do u want to study? That would have bearing with number of hrs per day.

That means studying 6 months full time.
So studying for 8 hrs on the average per day is great. Full time people usually study 6 to 12 hours every day.
Get the study material u want to use. Look at the volume and plan how long u want to study each not forgetting at least 2 months of intensive question solving.

Default You can do it!

Hey Alba,

You're already on the right track if you're asking! I was totally overwhelmed when I started studying for Step, but it turned out alright in the end. Once you get a study schedule established, choose your resources, and get in the zone, you'll start to notice yourself gaining more confidence.

Some of my colleagues, classmates, and I put together a study guide that you might find useful. http://picmonic.com/picmonic-step-1-study-guide/ It overviews a bunch of resources that I personally used, and helps you set time aside for yourself.

Just focus! You can definitely tackle this.

Adeel

Hello

I think for people who have been out of it for so long, lost, forgot much or all of the material, or did not learn the material properly the first time around I think Kaplan Lecture Notes with Videos are excellent. Reading the text for each topic then watch the video to fill the brdiges and gaps, then write notes into your First Aid.

For Pathology, use Pathoma or Goljans instead of Kaplan.

I am an IMG and I am currently studying for the boards. I have not taken any of the steps as I am trying to learn everything too. So I am kind of new to this just like you.

So use: Kaplan lecture notes and videos, First Aid, Goljan or Pathoma. Make sure to do Qs as I have found UWorld (this is a must), Kaplan Q bank, USMLERx to be pretty good Q banks. Do Qs, read and understand their explanations, make notes of it.
