Smile 247 on step 1: my exam experience

Study time: 13 months…I am an img so I had to study for my local residency exam during this time too.
Study material: Kaplan lecture notes…read them twice...Once with videos…i watched all the videos as I am more of a audio visual guy, reading plain text bores me.
I did Kaplan q bank subject wise after my first read of Kaplan…I would however recommend doing usmlerx instead of Kaplan..i found usmlerx to be more step 1 oriented…the question style and quality etc.
I did pathoma for pathology…excellent book…concise and to the point…easy to revise.
I did first aid twice…then 2 months of uworld…and then revised first aid again.
I did nbme 7 and 13 offline.
Uworld cumulative percentage: 68
Uwsa2 (2 weeks prior) : 242
Uwsa1 (2 days prior) : 254

Thanks for sharing your experience and congratulations for such a good score.

I would like to know what was your cumulative average in usmlerx?

Did you take some usmlerx mock tests?

What was your average in the offline nbme's? did you find any correlation between offline nbme's and your actual score?

Thanks

basics are important obviously...i would recommend doing kaplan once with videos for the concept building part...after that start first aid and review kaplan if the need arises.
knowing first aid well will you get you a good score...and i mean really well.

yes i used pathoma videos...the book is incomplete without the videos.

i found kaplan to be good enough...i would recommend watching all videos except the pathology ones because i did pathoma...physio will improve if you do questions and biochem is all about memorization...i memorized it till the very end.

my uworls cumulative was 68% so you can use that as an indicator...give it when you feel prepared.give online self assessments tests in between to brush up your deficiences

i did 500 usmle rx questions one week before my test although my uworld cumulative was 68%.

offline scores are not predictive...do them online.
