Smile What a lonesome journey

i don't know about you guys but i find step 1 prep to be quite a lonesome journey. Yes you may have a spouse or boy/girlfriend or family who support you totally but only someone doing the same thing as you really knows how it is. It's one situation where this forum and others become so important.
Let's carry on strong guys, it's but for a short while and the benefits are lifelong and firmly influence coming generations.

Hey fellow doctor,

there are many people who have the same feeling of feeling lonely and sometimes even depressed, say ME, myself, being one of them. its's a part of life. sometimes, we need to walk alone and find the ultimate goal of our life. For me, My gf just ended a 3 year long relationship, because I cannot find a job and am not even successful in passing USMLE, although I didnt even take it yet. and am currently located in another country instead of my home country. My family doesn't even know i'm planning to take Step 1, I saved money by myself from part time jobs & thus preparing for Step 1. so, things do go wrong. I was very depressed a few weeks ago. Even started a forum about quitting and blah blah.
but, you know who we need the most right now is a fellow doctor who is also determined to study hard for Step 1. thats it!

So, cheer up, life's not so easy. but every drop of our sweat will pay us well in future. so, Dnt worry! and if you need an onlin partner, add me at Skype-

Arise! Awake! And stop not, Till the goal is reached!! SV

Default Hello!

Trust me it can really be a lonely journey. I didn't realize how deep I had got myself into studying and had neglected everything around me until I got diagnosed with depression during these past 6 months. You don't realize how much of an impact all this stress and pressure can have on you. One thing I have learned recovering is that you realize at this point that you, God and family are your support system. I should add that people in this forum have been very gracious to me and have helped me out massively, more than friends would.. So I want to say thank you. It makes you stronger in the end, the road ahead only gets harder..so might as well smile until we get there You are not by any means alone, a lot of people are in the same position and in the end it will be all worth it.

-Fellow Step-Prepper

Default you are not alone

you are not alone friend...many of us are in the same journey of this exam..it takes a lot of hard work and patience ..and be ready to give your all. just dont loose hope during the process...if u dont seem to understand some thing or not able to remember things..just read it again and again and take help from others as well..use this forum. it helped me a lot. refer to other books if some things are difficult to grasp. just keep going and take each day as it comes. persistence is the key to success and i really believe that. hope we help each other throughout the process
