Help Please guide regarding cancelling & rescheduling appointment

Hello,

I had my prometric appointment scheduled for 30th April. I wanted to reschedule it but was not very sure of the new date. So I went to the Prometric Website & cancelled my appointment today ( 24th April) to avoid more than $50 fee & I had planned to reschedule it in 4-5 days when i would be more sure of my new date.

My appointment was cancelled.

I called up the Hyderabad Prometric center after that & the person out there said that I 'cancelled' my exam & did not 'reschedule' it so I have to apply to ECFMG again !!!!!! & I could lose my fee !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

is this true ???!!!!!!!

I thought I could cancel & reschedule it anytime during my eligibility period? ( March- May)

I am worried. Please guide.

And the $50/$200 fee applies when we cancel or when we reschedule ??

please please please reply. i am confused.

And just for the information, the fee amount we pay depends when we cancel & not when we reschedule.
