NBME 13 = 268 reAL deAL = 256
thanks Dr , my experience and exam experience already posted since 28th march evening after my exam . u just check my posts here in my list , and u will get it there . so sorry for DIT . u may ask anyone here , am sure people have it .
hey congrats on the great score!! can you tell me how you managed to improve your nbme scores to such a huge degre from nbme 6. and how early before the exam did you take them?
thanks Dr , well i did my First NBME , almost 7 months before exam . so i had enough time correct myself and read again . wat i did is , i put myself on pathoma + USMLErx + FA + UW and only from NBME 12 to 13 i added DIT in my studies , and after that i found myself that i know most of material , not because am very genius , no only because it was just easy from direct recall , from direct associations , and from fast recall because most of basics was on my hand except may be anatomy which was weird subject for me , sometime am good , sometime bad ..and was bad in realy exam (anyway i ahte anatomy and don need much of it for psychitary residency training i guess .
so my conclusion is , repetitions on basic stuffs is way to go on ths exam . FA FA FA + DIT (FOR AVERAGE STUDENTS LIKE ME ) ...thats all man .
thanks thank Dr , and much thanks for all encouragements and nice words of hope that u gave me in my whole journey , real appreciate . yeap done with ths crazy stressful journey . all efforts now to CK .
Hey congratulations and I am sure this score will really get you into the residency of your choice .... just a quick question how long before your exam did u take nbme 11 and ...... did u find nbme 11 difficult or 13 ..... all the best for CK
Congratulations on your success
your hard work and effort worked
Thanks for sharing your experience and welcoming us answering q
q1 Did you feel FA did not cover adequately topics??? if so which topics , sorry , if you get time pls post in -if possible*
q2 When should NBME be ideally taken ?
. HY Books u mentioned
Physiology = BRS
Biochemistry = Lange flash cards + kaplan videos + lippincott (only genetic part )
Cell biology = high yield series
Neuro = High Yield Neuroanatomy
Anatomy = High Yield Gross Anatomy
Behavioral science = BRS Behavioral Science
Ethics = Conrad Fischer
Biostatics = High yield Biostatistics + USMLE World Biostatistics Qbank
Microbiology = MMRS
Pathophysiology = Pathophysiology by ivan damjanov ( recommended by Goljan )
q3 Highly recommended combination: FA + USMLERx + DIT + UW = more than enough ,
SO can the above books be skipped , if not which u would highly recommend of above
q4 Robbins Qbook =similar q's in Webpath -MTB Step 3Cardio Endo??? you mentioned of these sources , could u tell a bit about these resources-did these help

thanks Dr , those in black is DO THEM ...and in red u can skip them . but these in red they were helpful to me , but all depends on time , if u still have enough time try them , if not then skip them . but make sure that combination abopve is your close frind in whole journey . u will ace it . these people ask basics but in intergrated form , and zig zag form i can say , but sometime fast direct recall . but most of questions are already in UW , DIT , FA , and USMLERx . if u be able to associate and able run from one angle of thinking to another , then u will be read scenario and plug question and go .
concerning FA wich topic ddnt cover , me i think after done with all those four combination and anotate your FA faithfully and smartly with importnat facts from those resources , then FA 2nd edition of your own will be enough and more than enough . problem is we are different on making anotation , and prob is sometime we concentrate on unnecessary facts like sanfilipo and sandhoff disease anotation which are unnecessary i can say and forget note important thnng that coronary sinus has direct connction wth RIGHT heart and will dilate in pulm HTN . or fight to know NOD2 gene muation of NF-KB activation is Crohn dis assctd story , but forget keep attention that patient who came with hip joint and same time wth history of diarrhea wth blood sometime in life for long time , and study show E.coli and bacteroides from joint aspiration ...will mostly likely be Fistula , which underlied by trasnmural inflamation of crohn disease . am trying to show u how attentive u must be on making yar anotation .
i did online . i think to do something that dasnt help u isnt good idea . why not online ? is better stay not do , and then u come do find money if is prob and do yar only two NBME . is better , u will know yar progression ., rather than rely on answer written by someone u dont know and dasnt have authority to give write answer too . to have high score dasnt mean someone can give u those answers , so dont trust these things of answers from people who scored higher . DO ONLINE .
congrats koyi , i remembered that you started your preparations last year and was looking for the kaplan vids, unfortunately we couldn't find a way to share them... am so glad you did so nicely in the exam, you are an inspiration to so many of us. keep going!!! GL
