Listening The Best of Dr Najeeb Videos?

What do hardcore Dr.najeeb fans think?

I loved the cystic fibrosis video and the receptors and intracellular signalling videos.

So which are your favourites?

I still have a long way to go to finish them, so i might have not included many while making my decision.

Planning to watch all of them!

when i first started studying last year, i watched some of his vids on youtube. i'm a big fan of his, he is passionate about teaching. makes concepts so easy to learn. key word: LEARN! if you are completely lost on a topic, i guess it doesn't hurt to watch some of his videos. but if you already know the topics, be prepared, because it can be frustrating when he keeps on repeating himself, but this is good for first time learners.

i still remember spending an entire day on just 1 topic, and i was so frustrated, because i felt like i wasted a lot of TIME. which is the deal breaker for dr najeeb for me. takes too long. great teacher, but imo, not really aimed at step 1. would have been great if i used him during medical school, but had no idea who he was back then..\

Hey, I'm a big fan of Najeeb also. In regards to what videos are useful to watch, I believe it is based on your background/strengths and weaknesses. For me, I have decided to skip most of the biochem videos for my prep since I have a strong background in biochem (didn't go to a single lecture except the first introductory lecture for my undergrad biochem course and got a very good grade for it) so for me watching biochem lectures will most likely to be not very efficient for my prep.

I have no background in immunology and pharmacology and have a weak foundation in other subjects. So, I have decided to watch the majority of his videos except some of the topics that I think I can study well even without his videos. For pharmacology, I have decided to supplement with the solid pharmacology course (DIT) some time in the future since I just can't be bothered to go through some of the materials that have been covered extensively in his other videos and again in his pharm videos (A LOT of repeats).

Note. I'm still in med school so I have the luxury to really take the time to study from his videos. Otherwise I just can't be bothered with his videos.

So in summary,

Pros abt Najeeb videos:

1. Comprehensive -> makes u understands why and how the pathology develops instead of "magic happened."
2. Extensive (although not complete, lack disciplines from anatomy...etc)
3. Thoughtful (every lecture topic is covered in depth)

Cons:

1. Very time consuming
2. They are teach-u-from-scratch videos not review videos (a pro for me)
3. The spelling of some of things he mentioned in the videos weren't correct
4. He dwell on the same concept too many times. "I know, Dr. Najeeb. But this is the 5th time you have covered splenic sinudoids and splenic cords in this lecture alone
