Question How dose my strategy look like?

Hello, I'm a 5 th year non US student now doing my rounds, I've started studying for usmle step 1 and integrating step 1 with my rounds. I'm doing FA chapters relevent to the rounds (for example- I've started rheumatology so I'm reading Musculoskeletal from FA). I also read the relevant chapter from Harrison (yes, I know it's heavy and not for step 1- but that's our main reference).

My question is- what I need to add in order to make my Preparation more efficient? I want to start qbank. Which one I should start with? (considering my studying style)

Regarding kaplan- wouldn't it be redundant? I'm using Harrison...

What I meant to say- I can't leave the Harrison- since it the course reference . And it's more comprehensive than Kaplan.

if you want a SCORE , you got to do Kaplan. You can not memorise and have a concept at the same time just by reading FA. if you want concept you need to do kaplan.

know Kaplan is the must- but I'm still a student- don't you think is the time for me to read the "large books" (like the Harrison?)
And of course- it may help me with my step 2 preparation (when time comes).

I think first things first. The most important thing for u now is to pass ur med sch exams. So if Kaplan is not enough for u add Harrison. Usmle style of questions different from most international school style of questions.

I agree with you and as I wrote before- I don't think that a student should neglect reading the Harrison while still doing rounds. Now it's time to consume as much medical information as possible, and unfortunately- the usmle "high yield" books are not exactly the source.
But, of course I want to SCORE at usmle , so I'll need to find the best way to
integrate.
