Choose any of them they are all rated A+ in FA 2013. In fact Goljan is standard per what I hear but pathoma matches up so well. Recent test takers who used pathoma say they were able to answer > 95% of patho and pathophys with pathoma. Goljan has more than necessary for step 1.
The option is urs!
What about pathoma videos only with rapid review book plus GOlJAN audio???I heard that the tables, images and blue side notes are extremely high yield and GOLDEN. Pathoma is great as an introducton, GOLJAN connects everything.
What you decided??
I think only those who hv read the two books shd vote. Or better still those who hv read them and hv taken the exams shd vote to make it more reliable.
i'm an auditory type of learner. so goljan is all i could ask for. it never occurs to me that i can like pathology chapters. turns out this awesome teacher got me hooked!
Goljan's student Dr Carlo Raj has a new video series: 54h pathology + 500 questions versus pathoma 35h, very modern video format at least - it's fairly new I think: www lecturio com > usmle > pathology - has anyone tested it yet?

I've used it extensively in the last few years of med school (I wish I knew about it earlier). It helped me review basic concepts from earlier years not totally understood and accompanied me all the way into my rotations. Since i study in Latin America I took the USMLE1 pretty late and it was great for didactic understanding that combined with FA and Uworld came out pretty great.
Dr. Carlo Raj is a super awesome lecturer, his lectures are actually fun to listen to.
Anyway, here is a sample video that the site offers. It's an introductory video but you can see the way that he lectures and thus understand what I have been mentioning:
Pathoma is much easier to learn. I also have have Beckers pathology if you'd like, the guy he gives good clinical correlates
