TALK TO SOMEONE. a good friend. someone you're close to. Definitely take a break as said above. you're probably burning out. start working out if you don't currently, go for a run 10-20 mins you'll feel better.

dont worry we all go through some sort of depression and anxiety. the USMLE is an important exam. you're not alone.

just stay positive and keep working.

222 in UWSA is def not bad at all. you're close.

i admit every person sometimes in his /her life feels the same way as you are and the one who emerges from it is the real winner ..... famous personalities has encountered such periods in their and they are only known because they had the willpower to look past it and move on

Albert Einstein didn't speak until age four and didn't read until age seven. His teachers labeled him "slow" and "mentally handicapped."

Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team.

What do you think they just quit while the whole world was against them ??? no they didn't ....they fought the whole world...and then everyone knows how successful they are .....

So what should you consider at this point ...

just take a deep breadth and close your eyes and look into the past about how you were able to move through your life ...

  • you went into medical college while most are not able to ...
  • you were able to complete the whole journey through the medical school while in b/w you know many people drop out and some are also unable to complete the whole studies
  • you became a doctor .....that itself is the biggest achievement of your life and very few people are bestowed with this feat
  • now you are just on the edge of the peak ...you have already made the hard journey through the steep mountain and you need just one push and you are thinking to quit at this point ???
  • don't you wanna think about you loved ones who always wanted to see you at the position you are just an inch away from ....

so i recommend you ...leave everything for a little while ....GO OUT ...and meet some people ,and the best way should be to help a person who is need as you are and help him through .... i bet you will feel very good about it
.....if you ever see a underprivileged person ...help him and you will know how your own life has always been a blessing .....you have everything already but look in eyes of a person who doesn't have these things and you will again start to value you life ....

and try to stay on such forums ...you will feel that you are not alone who is going through this tough journey ..... All the best for the next years of your life

i totally understand your situation..i was depressed , had low self esteem wen i had taken a year to prepare for step 1..the problem being i was not studying for it half the time and was simply worrying too much until a point like this came..there were many problems..like u are saying everyone is after your life..yeah u do feel like that because people around you have always seen you performing so well in life..and suddenly u feel like crap wen you cant focus on studies or feel lonely...the best thing for you is dont worry about the exam for a couple of days..find a good study partner and be in touch with your friends..and then resume your studies..u already know the most of it ( a 222 in uwsa is pretty decent..)..just keep yourself motivated for a couple of months more and dont think about how the past year has been..you will get a good score..and it'll be the end of all worries trust me..including family problems or low self esteem..what i have learned from my experience is if a stage like this comes no matter how many inspiring stories you hear , it doesnt make much difference ...you just need one two days where u are able to study effectively and that alone can sometimes give you the required motivation to go ahead and remain confident..good luck
