I am an IMG. I got my score, 237, on May 8th.:happy::happy:
As I had to work as research fellow, I had limited time to study daily. It took 1.5 ys to be prepared for the exam. I read the following books:
I took my exam on April, 16th. The exam was not so tough. More than 70% of questions are in First Aid. This book is really good. you need to review it several times before your exam.
The format of tests are very similar to NBME question.
I am so glad to get this score. I hope that I could be accepted in a good program next year.
I have a questions. have You never gone through any videos?

hi,
congratulations on a great score!
just a quick question..what are all the stuff that we can carry for the exam??food and stuff like that?
thanks in advance.
You will have a small locker and can keep your food there. During each break you have access to the locker and can take any food you brought. I suggest to take some sweet foods and fruits and tea as they make you fresh during exam.
hey all, iam new to usmle , and i want to start perperation, if you all people can guide me best,
my AIM is to score big , b/c what i have seen people scoring 260+ so if you all can guide me best with the pattern of usmle and also suggest me books
like kaplan, goljon, brs or any you people want to, also if u could give me a plan of perperation for usmle,
iil be very much thankful to you
regards.
Hey congrats for a nice score...
I jus want to know if ur year of graduation ( completion of internship) is 2008? If yes, wil u b considered as a med grad of > 5 years?
I just relied on First Aid + UWorld for gross anatomy. The anatomy questions were not difficult for me. If you want higher score maybe you can add kaplan anatomy to your list.
All embroyology Qs could be found in First Aid. Some Histology and Molecular biology questions were quite new for me.
congrats. you said 70% questions can be solved using FA. That would put you near 200 with FA alone. Is not it? rest can be other books. Can you elaborate bit more? one more thing how useful was brs pathology?
As I mentioned, You need to read some Kaplan books, High Yield + 100 cases of ethics and UWorld online tests (read the answers in detail and make a note and add the notes to First Aid).
Congratulations on your success. I have a question though. I took usmle practice test today and was informed by the pro metric staff that I am not allowed to use any study material during the break, however I have read on some forum where somebody mentioned otherwise. Were you allowed to go through any study material from your locker during the break time?
Evergreen, did you use FA for only those portions of the exam? Just micro, embryo, and histo?
