Default My exam experience

hello friends
all of you were of great help for me and i'm grateful
i had few attempts on starting step 1 preparation during my university period but began serious preparation after my residency training was over.
i started with kaplan lecture notes and videos which were extremely helpful since i had long forgotten all the basics. i re-learned everything from 0. my preparation was long-14 months.

my primary resources were kln from which i was transferring info into FA
i used kaplan in every subject except path-for which i used RR with supplemental goljan audio (for GUT and breast and dermatology-used pathoma), neurology-high yield neurology with supplemental kaplan videos, physiology-BRS with kaplan videos, microbiology-CMMRS with kaplan videos.

after first round my FA was already densely annotated and from that moment onwards i used it as the only source

i did UW system wise and added some extra info to my FA
+ UW gifted me a problem solving skills in pressured environment

i did NBME 15 month before my exam and got 242
then i did DIT it helped me to cover FA again

NBME7 offline 20 mistakes-couple of days back from exam

i'm a calm person but night before exam i got anxiety beyond the boundaries
and couldnt sleep-due to my silliness not buying a sleeping pills i was awake all night
i went to prometric in hope of postphoning exam by day or two
but there were some issues and my eligibility was ending soon so i preferred to take an exam. Got pack of redbulls and snickers luckily
after each block i was drinking redbull and eating one snickers (didnt touch my lunch)

first block was difficult and i was feeling sleepy so i guess most of mistakes i made in that block,
i was so disappointed that i was thinking on ending exam but somehow i could proceed and complete that block
second block was easier or i felt more concentrated from 2 cans of redbull and 2 snickers
3ed was a bit difficult but doable
the remainig blocks were easy
i drank so many redbulls that i couldnt sleep for two days

overall exam was easier than i expected it to be
mostly our medical logic was tested (u need to combine piece of knowledge with another piece to reach the answer-which is not given straight in FA/but knowing FA is like a formula of equation u just need to plug in numbers)
i remember for some WTF questions i couldnt even get the question stem what it was asking for etc ...

thats almost it

Thx to my friends irakly, beka and tamta who were of enormous help

Congrats on getting it done.

How was anatomy? Also, others have reported a lot more molecular bio questions (cell signaling and receptors, etc.). Did you think there was a lot of molecular bio? Thanks.

Congrats Medicine chief examiner
Percentage wise how would u approximate the various subjects in terms of questions on ur exams?
How helpful was DIT to you. Which year DIT did you use?

System wise approach helped me a lot in reinforcing individual chapters in FA
I had more gain than otherwise

But what worked for me may not work for others

Much Thx

I had plenty of anatomy questions but all of them were easy
Could be answered from FA
Molecular biology was complex-mostly i was making educated guess
Few questions could be answered from FA + supplemental sources
I had couple of questions on signaling pathways and second messengers but those were easy

Thx a lot
Pathology and pathophysiology made the bulk of exam content 40%
Behavioral with Ethics was next 20%
Pharm and micro were equally present 10%
Anatomy 10%-may be even more
Immuno and molecular biology 5%
Genetics 5% or less

I used DIT 12 but didnt have significant improvement (helped me to cover FA)
