Default Step 1 during house job

Hey guys im a recent graduate and ive started studying for step 1 however im a bit iffy about skipping house job and just study for 8-9 months. House job does give you a lot of confidence and experience. Is it wise to do it

My friend don't worry its just possible almost all my friends who hv matched did house job. Of course I hv done it for 2 yrs too. Am currently working and studying. The truth it that it's difficult no doubt about it. But house job gives money for the journey, experience etc. you get ahead of ur colleagues in residency with ur experience so they run to u for help.
Sure! so am having longer study period. The key to high score in house job is sty focused to ur plan and target. At times wen I come home from work I sleep flat becos of fatigue. Now am two weeks behind my schedule which is not good. But at the end of the day probably I would hv to add a month or so to my target date and would hit the high score.

Well I am managing anything from 1 to 5hrs per day. At times can go as high as 8 hrs wen am off duty.

I dont know what a house job entails, but working is definitely good. Programs dont like to see gaps on your CV, and you can't very well put "studying" in your CV...

Default .

I did my house job and there are few things about it

.if you think it will help u with ur step1 then the answer is NO
.if you think u can use time to study then it depends upon you and where u r doing ur hj ........ every hospital has some departments where u can do ur hj n also study like psychiatry dermatology radiology plastic surgery oncology and in some there is pathology as well there is not much of patient load in these departments but then again depends who is the Senior registrar or whoever is ur superior ..... however I will suggest that focus on one thing and that is usmle ....... IV lines and taking blood samples may be interesting in the beginning but u will realize that there is not much of learning in HJ .....
