Default Need advice on step 1 study plan

Hey all!

It's my first post here. I am glad to have stumbled upon this forum, which has been extremely motivating.

Soo I am in a bit of a pickle here. For starters, I am an IMG in third year of med school in the UK taking the step 1 in 3 months exactly from today. I have already extended my eligibility so this is my last shot!

I have been overwhelmed with family issues so have not been able to put 100% on preparation. So far I am still on first pass through FA

I'll cut to the chase, my goal is 240 and I was planning on blasting through FA and goljan for next 6 weeks while doing Rx and then saving last 7 weeks for uworld and hopefully 2nd pass through FA.

Do you think it's doable? I have been reading that most IMG require 5+ months so it's kind of freaking me out!

Any input would be appreciated

It's true ! The USMLE counselor at my school said its 5-7 months to do Kaplan (or pass program/DIT), FA, Questions etc, but I've seen people do it in a lot less, it all depends how much time and dedication you put into it.

I guess you already studied and you're just reviewing. Do a lot of questions ! I've heard its one of the most important things along with knowing FA front to back. I have a 6 weeks schedule I found online I would put the link but the forum wont post it. Let me know if you want it.

I hope I helped a little

Good Luck ! You can do it

Hello,

Every time I try to post a link on the forum a message says that they need to check external links before posting it and end up never posting it, so I'll send it via Private message

Hi,

I am a 3rd UK medic planning to write the USMLEs in the summer. I am wondering how other students are managing between doing school work and also studying for the USMLEs. I just want to manage my time wisely so that I don't mess up either or! Any advice would be appreciated.

Default Questions questions and questions

The most important study you can do and get the highest score is to answer and read explanations of all the questions come in your way.
Good luck to all of you and see you in the hospitals very soon......
