Default chances of residency for old graduates

well i graduated in 2009 ..what are my chances for getting residency if i apply for 2015 ..its almost 6 years then ..i have a green card .i will take my step 1 next month ..any suggestion

U have a big chance. Just score high. Ur chance is not the best if u have been away from clinical work for 6 yrs!

you need to score really high

240+ on all steps.
4 US LOR
and you have to show you have been working for the at least 2 years after medical school

my case is da same. Only thing is I hav a diploma in paediatric from India.
Hav u been working all these years?

i did house job in my home country for 1 year only obs n gynae

From what i know of residency programs in the U.S., admission is multifactorial. Your greencard is definitely a plus point, and will open a lot more doors than for a IMG with no greencard.

A lot of programs prefer graduates within 5 years of date of graduation, high scores on your board exams, along with US clinical experience and research can make you a strong candidate.

Research each programs requirements before applying, concentrate on those which specify that they don't care about year of graduation.
