Default Factors affecting insulin

Any explanation for how B2 blockers increase insulin release & alpha-2 agonists decrease insulin release? Thanks

Thanks

Actually it's on the contrary. Beta2 agonist increases insulin release (as glycogenolysis increases so glucose levels would go up hence insulin release.)

In contrast, alpha-2 agonism decreases insulin release by decreasing calcium influx into beta cells of pancreas

Thanks for your reply
Iam using FA 2013 & it says that B2-antagonists increase insulin release (page 288)
The only explanation that i have reached is that B2-antagonists are diabtogenic (so --> Increase glucose level ---> Increase insulin release)
But I don't know the exact mechanism for B2- antagonists to be diabetogenic

Please check the 2013 errata. Google First aid 2013 errata

''Under the list of insulin regulators, note that β2-agonists, not antagonists, increase insulin secretion.''

First Aid really needs another competitor!
