Step 1 scores are usually released 3-4 weeks after the test. Although they say not to call them until 8 weeks have passed, but if you still don't have your score by the 5th week, by all means contact them! I waited 5 weeks to contact them and they told me about the delay in the student status verification letter. Had I waited 8 weeks it would have delayed my score even longer!!

my curiosity

Congrats to you, 9x score guys!
As your results are really great, may I ask if you guys scored really high during med school? Do you think high scores during med school is a good predictor of a high score USMLE result? My school is good at teaching things theoretically but when it comes to the practical part, it does not go very well, and we just need to pass the practical exams in order to sit for the oral exams...Has anyone been in a similar school? Can I do the test well if I study Kaplan books really carefully? I am a little nervous right now...

hello ellen_dinh,
it depends weather ur scores of medschool can predict your usmle score or not ,but it majorly depends on the way of self studing and grasping knowledge and also the ways of teaching in med school. for me my medschool was somewhat like yours we also did better theoretically than practical but my med shool score s are no where related to my preparation for step 1 . i will advice u not to be bothered by ur med school scores , start from the basics keeping in mind the pattern , high yield points of step 1 subjects , after completing 1 round of all subjects go for nbme test if score is not upto ur mark go for 2nd round with all of ur subjects then do nbme (do nbme after every set of revisions ) , nbme is the predictor for ur usmle scores. kaplan is definately the best way to go.also do questions so that u can understand where to apply which concept.all d best !!
