Help Whats the next step?

UWorld: 61% with 1000qs left
Kaplan Q bank: 60% 50%remaining (didn't/don't use this much)
In the process of going through FA which is annotated with UWorld and KaplanLN

I have about a month and a half, or even up to 2 months remaining if I need. I just don't know what to do, I have started getting around 65-75% on UWorld timed/random. I know I should start doing self assessments and FA, but should I do DIT? Should I go through FA once before self assessment? Should I finish Kaplan and THEN do Uworld? Should I not do kaplan? Should I save uworld questions for the end? Uworld self assessment now and then NBME closer to the exam or other way around? So many questions, Im afraid I'm gonna mess it up right here in the end.

Any suggestions would be great!

I want to do exactly that, however my eligibility period is not until August I never thought I'd start accelerating my pace through the Uworld questions so fast. Im mostly concerned about using up all the UWORLD questions too early and having that info fade...

Right now I am getting through a quick revision of FA, and plan on taking an NBME or UWSA in a couple of days. Is it really bad to delay taking the test if I am getting somewhat proficient? BTW I'm an IMG and am shooting for something around 250.

Thanks for the solid advice man, too bad I messed up my scheduling. Hope it doesn't screw me

(Can I buy time for myself by doing Kaplan qbank till coming up on the exam and finish Uworld?)

i guess it all depends on your circumstance like the level of your knowledge at this point, the time you have, your goal and etc.
if you have time of course its much better to delay the test but get a significant score.
any way before taking the nbme we can not say how we are gonna do.
and its not gonna fade if you do enough revision.
so dont worry, wish you bests

Very true, I realized there is still a lot of work to do to get as close to a guarantee that I will score close to my target. It can't be left up to chance so a lot of revisions of FA are in order I think. As well as going through uworld a second time.

Thanks for the help bud. Good luck in your endeavors!

Hey,

I took NBME 7 first, and it was right around the time I started this post. I believe the exact date was the 7th of July. I took NBME 7 without being 100 percent prepared but mostly took it as a motivator and a way to identify any weaknesses I had. I found out I was extremely weak in Neuro and Behavioral.

So for the next week or so, I studied Neurology in depth and did Behavioral and a quick pass of First Aid. And focused less on UWorld questions but still probably did a block to two blocks a day.

On the 15th of July, I took UWSA 1. I think the questions were similar in difficulty, but the curve is a lot more generous I think. I have seen many people online post that the curve is more generous and that you should expect 10 points less on the real thing than on UWSAs. I don't know if htey are right, but I like to play things on the safe side. Either way, I was happy with that score because worst case scenario, if i took off 15 points, it put me at around 237.

After that I took a small vaca with my family and then came back and hit FA again really hard for another week. And again worked on a few of my weak areas. While doing that, I put little post it flags on pages I knew were ULTRA high yield but hard to remember for a long time (lysosomal storage disorder table, antimicrobials, other big charts and tables in FA) and should look at the day before or the day of my next NBME. I was treating Form 11 as the MAIN test and did EVERYTHING I would do before the actual test before taking form 11.

I did that for about 7-8 days and then took my recent NBME (11). My advice to you is do everything you can before taking this NBME. At the least, get through First Aid cover to cover. That I think, is the best thing to do in between tests. Most points are in FA. If you have any question bank questions left, go ahead and finish those up or do about a block a day in the morning, and do FA till you go to sleep. Once you are done with FA, you should be ready for your test and if it has been 2 months since ur first NBME, I have a feeling you are going to rock this one! Please let me know how you do and later maybe you can tell me what worked/didn't work for you. Good luck buddy, hope my experience helps!

Thank you very much for the detailed reply. I am going thru FA now as you would call it cover to cover, I am spending about a day in each system and take the NBME 13. I will write back about my progress, hopefully its a progress lol.
