Help Having Waves of Doubt

Exam is Saturday. Have to go through Kaplan pharm again one last time, Kaplan cardio and pulmonary physio, Kaplan micro genetics, Kaplan genetics in general, pathoma's first twelve chapters. On top of this still have to do Kaplan biostats portion.

I've been studying close to a year and I just don't feel good about Saturday. Highest nbme was 11 with a 230 and lowest was 15 with a 220. Trying to review micro which is a strong point for me, along with immuno, Biochem, path, pathophysiolgy, and pharm.

I'm just getting a lot of doubt that I won't do well on Saturdays exam.

I would advise you to read your notes, do questions or FA for the last few days. Kaplan proves to be too much sometimes.
That said anxiety before exams is normal. Just keep your head down and keep studying. Wish you the best for your exam!

Default I wish you the best

I would say that this is normal and please do not give up. You can do this. Don't lose focus. From here onwards its the game of focus, stamina and luck. You can control focus+stamina and as far as luck is concerned, we all wish you the best of luck. Please have faith. Remember YOU CAN DO IT.

What did I do with my life for the past year? I was looking on studentdoctor, and there are people that have read FA 3-4 times prior to taking the exam. Here I am that read it only once, and I've forgotten most of the content that I had read.

I'm so disappointed in myself, I just don't know what to say about this. I wasted a year, constantly watching Kaplan and Pathoma videos over, over, and over again.

Even then, I still don't feel 100% confident. I am sorry, for sound negative but I don't know how I could be so irresponsible about an important exam like this.

Going to such an exam with a bucketload of negativity is going to drag you down. Realign your mentality with positivity. Stop this unprofitable guilt trip and focus on your exam. Do an NbME again and focus on your weak points. You can't finish FA by Saturday if you haven't been studying it constantly so don't stress on it. Also read your uworld notes. Now go!

I dont want to discourage u but if u feel ur preparation is not sufficient postpone ur exam
Its better to struggle for couple of weeks more than to ruin ur whole life career

I think medical examiner is right ... if you feel that you are underprepared .... why not postpone it and give your prep a resuscitation ....

Your main problem seems to reading less FA and thats why you are low on confidence when comparing to other fellows who have read it numerous times ...

Dit helps consolidate FA ...they quote FA pages when explaining ....and they use it as a sole reference book all through out their videos .... i recommend you to watch them

For an insight on its value read this

I can't. I've already pushed the exam back into another eligibility period once already. I'm a year behind from all of my classmates. A few of them are already on their 3rd and 4th core rotations.

My parents think that I've peaked, but I know I can still improve. I'm making mistakes mostly in pharm, since the last time I really prepared for it was during the class study time. I pick it up quick, but trying to finish it by tomorrow evening is going to be a challenge, all while trying to do one last round of Pathoma, some biostats, and in addition some anatomy.

Jacob, relax..... if truly you have read FA just once. Its not that bad. The way you sound or potray shows )fear and excessive anxiety...i dont know how much time you have but truly what you need now is to be quite confident.... A reread of FA quickly would help or ur previous jotted notes.. Am not sure rereading those textbooks all over will help much..dont know much of what you have done but keep answering questions and think positively and build confidence. If you had a 220 on nbme 15. You are on a right track and by now you should know your weak areas but revise them with questions and your notes not textbooks again .. wish u all the best.. You have to be confident bro. Stop all this negativity. If i saw all these your posts before writing mine i might have been depressed..

yeah i just don't want to fail. re-reading the portions of FA that i was able to finish reading before and looking over my incorrect questions from UWorld. need to finish the first half of kaplan pharm (ie ans and cvs), look through some HW equations, and then do a full view of Pathoma one last time starting in the evening or so.
