Medicolegal and Ethics STD reporting to partner

HI,

i want to verify a concept if a pt comes who cheated on his wife and has an STD, you treat him, next day the wife calls the clinic asking about the husband recent , do you inform her about the STD? should you take the initial step to get in contact with her ?

Please clear this point up

You cant disclose the information that the husband has the disease... The contact tracing is done by cdc that tells contacts that they may have come in contact with STD .. But they also keep the patient confidential... If an option exsist saying encourage the patient to tell his partner then thats the first thing

thank u if the only option available is between tell the spouse or tell her i cant disclose the information i should go with "cant disclose this information"
