Biochemistry leucine lysine in PDH deficiency

what is rationale of giving leucine and lysine in Pyruvate dehydrogenase deifciency as mentioned in first aid pg 101 ?

Because of PDH deficiency pyruvate will be shunted to lactate pathway and then to gluconeogensis... Leucine and lysine are purely ketogenic ... They will prevent lactate formation
