First welcome to the forum. If you search this forum or look at the bottom of this page you will find many stories similar to your's. Not all make it to finish but many many have overcome all the difficuilties and found success. you should read the success stories so you are motivated. Your kid will always distract you. you will have to find a way.... no excuses here. The best you can do is find a baby sitter/domestic help. then apply early that will get you started but before that get all your material so that you are ready to go...
Best of luck you are not alone studying with kids there are many moms for example dr. Laura and DrSaaz...search

You will need to find daycare or baby sitter. I started to study when my daughter was 3 months old and my mom was able to help me with her for couple months. But when my mom went back to work, and my hubby could not take care of our baby, I realized that we needed daycare. I started to work and was able to pay for the daycare. Of course you have to have help for house choirs. I almost never cook or clean the house, it's a mess but I am more focused on studies. My hubby takes care of the baby after daycare as I study after work till 8:30-9 pm. Unless you have someone committed to helping you, you will not be able to study well. I am still not well prepared with full time job and other stuff going on, but I am well settled for the late August exam. Hopefully I will not have to extend it. Good luck.

I have one simple advice:
Calculate the amount of time you would normally take and multiply it by 2 (unless you have some support from the family).

dear friend , i just got my result for step 1 .... 248 ! i have 2 boys , 7 yr and 4 yr old . i tried endlessly to study for my steps but never succeeded till my mom came to help me . i went to the library for 6-7 hrs a day and she took care of my house chores and the kids . bottomline , u need to have full time help to give these exams . toward the last months , u have to actually study for about 10 hrs so clearly u can't do it with the distractions . don't try to study with the kids hanging around u b/c u will not cover anything and get frustrated and ur kid is too young to understand . i'm talking from experience .
