Default Bureaucratic issue

Hi everybody,

I'm an european IMG, not graduated yet.

Few weeks ago I started my procedure to take Step 1 by the first weekend of October, just before my last year begin.

I paid for the exam, I completed the online procedure, all I need to do now is send to ECFMG the form 186 signed by an Official of my Medical School.

At least this is what I thought... since I am still a medical student and my university takes part in EMSWP, I thought Form 186 with a photo, signed and sealed would be fine! But my university administrative office told me I have to attach a translated copy of enrollment certificate (just because another student did it few months ago).

Could you please clarify me this situation telling me exactly what to send, considering I am still a student and I won't be graduated by the date of the exam?

Have I to attach forms 344 and 345 too?

Thanks a lot

Directly from ECFMG site:

Quote:
In order to obtain a Certification Statement (Form 183) or Certification of Identification Form (Form 186), you must first complete the on-line part of an exam application using ECFMG’s Interactive Web Applications (IWA).
The Certification Statement (Form 183) is the paper certification required by ECFMG for applicants who are students enrolled in medical schools that do not participate in the ECFMG Medical School Web Portal (EMSWP). The Certification of Identification Form (Form 186) is the paper certification required by ECFMG for applicants who are medical school graduates or are students enrolled in medical schools that participate in EMSWP.
After you have completed the on-line part of your exam application, IWA will automatically generate the appropriate form (Certification Statement or Certification of Identification Form). You will then be able to print the form through IWA.
If you have already completed the on-line part of an IWA exam application and need to reprint your Certification Statement or Certification of Identification Form, access IWA.
in fact at the end of the online application, I found form 186!

the question is: why I have to make translated an italian certificate that tells exactly the same as the form 186? it's pointless!

actually I think I'm just wasting my time listening to my university administrative office which is clearly not used to this kind of procedure.

on IWA I have only two forms available: 186 and 187.
since I haven't any other document to submit to ECFMG, I don't need form 187, so form 186 is the only one I have to send.

am I right?
