If you never watched the kaplan videos, I think you should - specially the metabolism ones.
It will highlight all what you need and what steps in the metabolism pathways are important.
and then i think, it helps to go to FA and review its biochem section and see if you understand everything.

don't be an idiot like me! i started biochem with lippincott. don't do that. just stick with kaplan, and use FA as a guideline. once you do qbanks, you'll realize that kaplan and FA is where it's at!!

You can complete it in 15 days if you have a general concept of Biochemistry.

If you don't it will take you around 3 weeks and maybe the 4th week you can do revision.

Stick to Kaplan and FA and remember what Sam Turco says with Biochem he's actually a really good teacher!

I'm also going over first reading on the subjects. In my personal opinion you should finish a minimum of 2 subjects before buying a subscription of Qbank.

If you have time I would generally keep all the subjects within 1 month and maybe pathology 6 weeks.

I still haven't given a tot of qbank ... Because attempting questions without reading makes me depressed so ... Waiting for the completion my 1st read by next month

All of this advice given is rock-solid!

One thing I'd like to add that has helped my students who struggled with biochemistry is to draw things out themselves... taking the time to draw out pathways really helps you turn a lot of memorization into easier to master material.

Best of luck on your journey!

Question How to

Hi
I'm also giving first read to biochem from kln
I get some of it and some is just imagination .
I'm confused what to focus on
Should I give a good read or should I make sure I understand everything .
I do refer to videos at times but I feel watching all the videos is time consuming .

Did all Kaplan videos and the book at the side, but mostly videos! I wrote down all the pathways and made my own little overview. For metabolism I have 30 hand written pages. Doing USMLERx meanwhile and scoring pretty well and annotating everything in my FA2013 pdf version.
