Italy Closing the Pharmacology Gap in Italy!

Hello everyone, this is my first post here, I hope I'm asking in the right place:

I study in Italy, and I must say that our preparation is pathetic. Mostly I study alone, from american books and lectures, because most of our profs got no idea how to train doctors.

Anyway, with the help of Kaplan and other Usmle books, I closed most of the gaps. The only one I still have to close is Pharmacology.. I have no idea what is this, and this is terrible for me.

So, this is my last year at med school, but I have time for pahramco, something like 2 or 3 months, and I need advice from where to do it.
I have the Kaplan Step 1 videos and latest lecture notes. can I do these alone? I don't think I have the strengths to study a huge text book.. but, are the 25 hours of Kaplan lectures enough?
I also got Katzung, but it said it's a review book.. so, do you think Kaplan can explain basic concepts and Katzung will help me solidify?
any advice will be wellcomed!! thanks a lot!

Welcome to the forums

Honestly after reading all the big books for pharma and going through kaplan .... i found kaplan the best in terms of understanding and the qaulity of the content .... i would strongly suggest you to not read any other book except kaplan .... kaplan pharma videos is the best one in the series and raymon does an excellent job in making you understand every concept..... in the end go through lange pharma flashcards and you are done !

Going through the above and then reading FA is the best combination you can have for the boards ....

Goodluck !

I strongly agree with NPKTUN advice.

Kaplan Pharmacology is very concise and easy to swallow. Pharmacology is not easy to retain and you need something that give you the high yield only in a an easy to memorize style and KLN does the job.

Also, our members have voted for KLN as the best, check the poll here
