wat is the anemia seen in hypothyroidism?

It depends. It can be microcytic, normocytic or macrocytic. "Thyroid hormones stimulate directly or indirectly growth of erythroid colonies through erythropoietin" as it says here http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22200582 .From what I've understand, it has to do

1) with EPO metabolism
2) with a general hypoproliferative state (affecting intestinal absorption of B12 etc.) caused by hypothyroidism
3) with propensity to menorrhagia (leading to blood loss) in hypo.

Macrocytic anemia in this falls under normoblastic or megaloblastic?

In the case of B12 malabsorption due to hypoproliferation of intestinal epithelium, it'll be megaloblastic. At least I think so. Ask someone expert!
