Computer The 7th Block Ended Suddenly

hi,

i had my step 1 exam today..i could finish first 6 blocks before time but 7th block ..i was on question 40..and the screen suddenly changed to the survey screen..

i could not click on end block option for block 7 and there was no block summary at end of block 7 indicating how much break time i utilised etc..the survey screen came on directly

i am wondering whether my block 7 answers were saved(even when i didnt formally end the block)..please clarify this doubt for me..i dont want to worry over the next 3 weeks about missing an entire block..

do i need to contact ecfmg?

many thanks

Jut like dr_kg said.

You have to have informed the proctor at that point.

I don't know what happened with you and am not sure if your answers were saved or not, am guessing that you have utilized the time allocated for the entire exam (8 hours) even though your 7th block time was still not ended, meaning you have probably taken more break time than you should have taken. If this is the case then the 40 questions you have done from the seventh block should have been saved and transmitted.

However, am not sure. Perhaps there was software glitch that ended you abruptly, if that's the case, then it's a bigger issue and they might even cancel your exam attempt and ask you to take it again.

hi

sorry 4 nt clarifying this earlier

what happend is my 7th block time ended..i had a 5 min warning..and then aftr some time screen suddenly changed to survey screen without further warnings...so i was on q 40 at that time..and i could not click on end block

before starting 7th block, my total block time remaining for the day waws 30 mins so thats not an issue..and 7th block is the last block..so that seems fine

i spoke to prometric staff..they said it looks ok from their end hwever i am alitle worried and wanted to confirm with others too whether every thing is ok

thank you for replying...

thanks dr.albert

i finished d survey and next thing that happened was that system shut down compltely and screen displayed prometric logo etc

its so much more reassuring if end of exam u can see some kind of summary (as in previous blocks) which displays how many blocks u finished, break time remaining etc..but ohh well! i guess my answers have been saved and i wil move on n try to take that planned vacation...

about the exam..i dont have my score..i can just suggest a few things

last one month of study is very imp..limit ur study sources..dont read anything new..revise and revise

according to me ideal combination is kaplan plus uw and f.a...

make notes in f.a from day one from nbmes that u mite solve and uw etc

neuroanat can be answrd directly frm f.a and uw qts..readn hyneuro is nt needed

dont ignore ny subject..i m nt gud in anat n didnt prepare it well..but quite a few qts were from anat

b.sc fa is enuf ..rest qts were dctr pt relationships whch can be answered based on common sense alone..neednt read anything extra 4 that

had qts from old nbmes...but do previous offline nbmes as a study source only if u hve time..

more imp is to revise kap.f.a and uw

gl 4 ur prep
