Help Aporcine Metaplasia of Breast

Hello,

I'm currently studying Pathology with Pathoma!

In Chapter 1 it mentions "under persistent stress, metaplasia can progress to dysplasia and eventually result in cancer. Except Apocrine metaplasia of breast which carries no increased risk for cancer.

Can someone explain why?

I've tried looking around but no luck!

Whats your doubt exactly??
Usually metaplasia like barretts oesophagus leads to adenoma....but apocrine metaplasia doesnot predispose to breast cancer...its an exception.....

He will discuss this more in chapter 16 Breast Pathology. What he really doing is that he's building up the foundations in first three chapters and then carry on into system pathology.
