Retroviruses are used as vector to transfer cDNA in gene therapy BUT retroviruses only have RNA so how can we use them to transfer DNA????

cDNA

Hello medical biology if i can recall correctly from memory cDNA is synthesized from mRNA with all the introns spliced out. Now retroviruses have what special enzyme that can cause mRNA to turn into cDNA... Reverse transcriptase. Hopefully my reasoning is correct and if not plz feel to correct me :)
