Thumbs Up Not going Down without a Fight!

A couple days ago I took a very disappointing NBME 5 that said I was at 490-219. a decrease from the NBME before that. This shook me but only momentarily. The old me would have quit but guess what. I DON'T buy it! How much veracity can ONE exam, one moment in time have on your overall performance and competence as a doctor. I was scoring 75% cumulative on usmleworld timed random, with 42% done at the time. That is not nothing. That is not peanuts. A couple days ago I came here pretty anxious, So my 2cents to anybody on here who reads this is: BAD NBME? SHRUG IT OFF! The vast majority of folks here are smart wonderful docs. So that NBME BULL IS NOTHING. If it says your weak in certain areas, BE HAPPY! Accept the weakness and work on em'

In my particular situation it is very difficult to accept one NBME over an entire qbank like uworld Which is much harder and lets face it. 200 questions vs 2000 very hard and difficult qs. Back then I took NBME as LAW, now I take them with a little grain of salt, just a little. So if your prep is going good and you'll know in your bones if you are strong and a little hiccup comes along the way, Just keep going foward

Get back on that horse and quite frankly SCREW THE NBME'S
From now on I take them pieces of **** for fun! Pardon my french.

NBME has dealt with me also. I wonder what your target score is 240+??, btw i really never liked the older NBMEs. So maybe try another NBME like 12, 11, 13 and see the score difference.

Also just realize that some folks are dying to get a 219 that you call "VERY DISAPPOINTING" lol. But i like your drive to overcome and become better. Stay motivated and good luck with your exam prep.

Thanks for your input Dr. Knife happy.

219 is a great score, you are competent and smart if you manage to pull off a 219, it was disappointing for me because the first nbme that I took was 12 and told me I was at 228 , and you're "supposed" to increase with each successive NBME, But I refuse to pay much attention to them besides my weaknesses and even then I take with a grain of salt, My goal is over 240 and quite frankly If uworld looks pretty good I'm gonna put my faith there. Just thought folks should keep that in mind.
