Help Would it be considered an attempt?

My eligibility extended period for step 1 ends on sept 30.....i have not scheduled a date with prometric....as i don't think i am prepared completely. i know i wont get back my fees and i have to apply again with fees. But my qusetion is would it be considered as attempt?how can i cancel my exam?......please help

No it won't be considered an attempt.

Cancelling the exam does not count as an attempt

Thanks a lot for the reply..But do i have to inform ecfmg that i am not taking the exams.....I have not scheduled any date with the prometric...so just not turning up would be fine or i have to inform them?

You don't need to notify anybody.

You lost all the money though.

You have to reapply again to get another eligibility period.

Just to make sure, did you use all your six months eligibility period, did you extend it from 3 months to 6 months?

yes...it is the end of my extended eligibility period......thought I could make it but unfortunately it didn't happen. i was very sick for 2 months. I know I lost the money..but can't help that.

A lil loss of money is ok compared to failing the exam. So just apply for another period and study hard and defeat the beast. Good luck
