this result thing is dissolving me from inside. i m an IMG and gave step one on 11th dec.

nbme 13...242
nbme 15...247
both two weeks out

and Uworld first go timed random...78% cumulative

coudnt perform well in exam....had some time management issues..dont knw how people end blocks 5 mins before time... i had quite long stems of questions and difficulty level was almost same as of uworld... but uworld maintains difficulty level and exam wanders frm easy to wth. had lots of molecular biology portion and wierd hematology questions which gave me tough time... i used to skip wth questions to be answerd in end and tht was my biggest mistake and cudnt find time to do them in end of blocks and ended up picking favaourite letters....shud have answerd em at the spot and tht might have given me couple more points on exam. had some repeats frm nbme 7 and hadnt done this nbme and nw feel tht it was another mistake.....overall not satisfied and ecfmg isnt ready to give my result. cant start CK till result and time is ticking....i hope we all succeed..

Honestly, your expierence mirrors pretty much what we all went through in the exam. I made some really dumb mistakes and i still remember some of them now, and im still kicking myself for them . I think i might have just had one repeat from ALL the NBMEs that i took. I didnt do any NBMEs before 7 though...now im thinking maybe some were repeated from those earlier exams. I've already started CK here and there..i couldnt sit idly by.

Haha it has always been clear that today there would be no scores but it is easier to wait 1 day for 10 times than 10 days all at once

OMFG! Thank you! I thought it was just me that didnt get repeats. I swear, there wasnt a single NBME repeat question on my exam, and like you, I only did the NBMEs from 7 onwards, none of the ones before. I feel like we got the exact same exam lol.

hell i bet all of us in December did, because it looks like from reading everyone's posts . I looked at NBME 6, but i didnt go through all of it, thinking that it was really old.

okay no wait, there was a repeat from NBME 15, but they changed a couple of the answer choices around. So yeah, i would say one definite repeat and maybe another one....which was from NBME 7 i think.

Do you know guys the number of mistakes correlation with real step 1 score?
For example, if you have at least 20 mistakes, you will get 250...etc
Any previous experiences are very helpful

It's pointless to figure that stuff out. Nobody knows what score you will get related to how much you miss or how much you think you missed.

DIT = Doctors In Training. Its pretty much a program where they walk you through Firstaid. With DIT you will go over every single FA page, and they will give you nifty little mnemonics and memorization tools. Also, they use a 5 star system to rate the importance and likelihood of you getting a question from a certain page of FA.

Overall, if you have the money, its not a bad way to go over FA one more time. Is it absolutely necessary? No, but at the same time I wouldn't call it a waste either. Following their schedule, the entire course can be completed in 15 days, and at the start of each day and through out the day, they give you small quizzes which i find to be pretty highyield. These quizzes keep reiterating facts from previous sessions so that info really sticks in your mind.

Here is a link: http://www.doctorsintraining.com/

You have to pay for it. Obviously there are more "nefarious" ways of obtaining it, but I don't wanna be the one to endorse piracy

Back in the days there was a "hack" that people found. Pretty much if your scheduling permit disappears, it means that you passed the exam, and thus there is no longer a need for it. But if it doesnt, it means you failed. Apparently though that was fixed a few years ago so Im guessing the permit disappears for everyone regardless of whether they passed or failed

Anyways, back on track, at least your permit disappearing means progress is being made Im sure when you get your score its gonna be a 260+ lol

EDIT: My scheduling permit disappeared too

In another thread a member made tge intelligent remark that it could also be because of the ending of eligibility period. Mine was until dec 31, so it would fit. The member's is until feb, he took step 1 on dec 11 and his permit is still there. What about your eligibility period?

Hey marjani

When's your exam? My exam is in two weeks thinking of just doing nbme 13 and skipping 15. Done with 7 and 11. Have you given any other nbme?

Don't skip 15...i got a question almost word from word from it, which tested the same concept... They just switched the answer choices.

Do we have to take the CBSSA version??
And do we get to know which ones were incorrect? Or we need to buy something else for that too?

I am also not sleeping well...I have never had this with an exam before...interesting experience. Interesting but I wouldn't miss it
I also don't want to know my cortisol levels....there should be a guideline telling you to take vitamin D for osteoporosis prevention during the waiting period ^^
What time will it be for you when the results are release 9 am US eastern time?

Man... I'm so anxious. I hope I did well. Getting the bottle of whiskey ready. Hope it's a celebratory drink rather than a depression drink

By now, I'm almost certain that even the butterflies in you guy's stomachs have called quits. Pretty sure you guys will get your target scores. I've been following the forum for some time and have always seen the same flood of feelings as you guys experienced. So yes, I'm sure you guys will be swimming in joy tomorrow.

Please don't forge to post your experience, specially for people like me who are into final 1-2 months of prep. How did you guys tame the beast in last 2 months and what would you have done differently. Thank you.

All the best, y'all!

One quick question: If you guys go to OASIS and click one "Score report information": You will see:

USMLE Exams

Your most recent USMLE Step 1 Score

Exam Date:

Score Report Date:

Do you already have any dates entered or not?
I'm just asking because after the test after the programme had sent off the last test block and wanted to go to this form that you fill out after, the programme crashed. The person at the test center said that its ok but I just want to double check with you guys. If you already have some dates entered there I will call ecfmg.
Thanks.

Thanks. I completely forgot about the programm crash after the exam, it happened in the "I don't give a f**k anymore."-phase.
The problem with this phase is that it is only temporary, reverses and, until you get your score, turns into the "Phase of giving a constantly increasing amount of f**ks"

According to the math you should get it. My OASIS is still on Jan 5, so no update for at least two days (Jan 5 was a Sunday). Hopefully you get it tomorrow.

Gentle(wo)men, the countdown has just begun. T-24hrs.

T-3 hours.
Cortisol levels Cushing-like, metanephrin levels over the top and blood pressure 300/180 mmHg.
I call it

"Functional panhyperadrenalism"

Etiology: Waiting for USMLE Step 1 score.

Symptoms: Being nervous as sh*t.

Diagnosis: HPI sufficient.

Treatment: Get a good USMLE Step 1 score.

Prognosis: Dependent on the score. The higher the score, the higher the 5 year overall survival.

When does/did your eligibility period end?
According to the math you will get it next week.

Then its more likely you get it next week since the scheduling permit disappears when your eligibility period ends.

30 minutes. Getting ready for impact.
I am also much more stressed out. But it makes sense, before the exam we still had the possibility to fight what was going to come. Now it is just wait and accept :>
