Virus Interferon Inhibition of Viral Growth?

Question - Interferons inhibit viral growth primarily by affecting -

1) Host Cytokine Production

2) Host Protein Synthesis

3) Viral Protein Synthesis

4) Viral transcription process

5) Viral Assembly and release.

The answer to this in Kaplan is C. However if it is inhibition of protein synthesis, so is the transcription still happening?? I am sorry if its a very silly query but my brain is just blocked. Any help will be appreciated.

interferons are produced by dying cells which tell other cells "there's a virus around" - the response by the cells which recieve interferon is the slowdown of the protein synthesis at the translation stage - which thus leads to lower viral synthesis. so yes , transcription is still happening, but no virus is synthesized, and faster elimination of affected cells occurs.
