Unhappy stuck with step 1 :(

Dear fellow doctors,
I would like to thank this forum as I get very important information regarding step 1. I've been visiting this site since July 2012. It was always my wish that on early 2013, I'll be done with step 1 and be posting my experience so others might read and be encourage as well. But here I am still... stuck with step 1. I'm an img graduated 2012. I am supposed to sit for the exam tomorrow but I have to postpone. And my last eligibility period will expire this month. So I have no choice but to reapply again... I hate myself for wasting so much time. Why I'm making personal problems a big issue and causing it to ruin my studies. Ugh! I read stories of doctors who have to work while preparing for this test, and parents who have to take care of their kids, work, and study. But they all passed. And I know it's really in our character and determination to make this a reality. I have a very understanding and supportive parents. They have provided for me everything... to prepare for this test. I don't have to work, don't have to do laundry, don't have to cook.... I feel sorry for them. Because they are doing everything to make me comfortable so I could only focus for this exam...I hope by Dec. I will be posting my exam experience... I salute all doctors who have passed this exam and those who are preparing for this test. I wish I can have the right attitude and discipline, like you guys. keep up the good work and thank you for sharing your experiences. it helps me a lot not just information wise but emotionally as well. Ok, back to my review..
May God bless us all...
step 1 is doable aja!!

Hi jusmile,

I just wanted to wish you the best of luck in your preparation. I'm sure you know that a lot of students struggle to prepare for the exam, so feel better knowing that you are not alone in the journey. It can be a constant struggle to push yourself to the limits on a daily basis, but it is possible. I was exactly like you in that I had everybody's support (family, friends) and they were all rooting for me to succeed, and whenever you are feeling tired, exhausted, ready to call it a day, allow all of the support you're receiving to be a motivating factor to keep pushing through.

Also, if you are stuck and feel like everyday you aren't making the progress you want, you should write down your goals: monthly, weekly, daily, in great detail. This will make achieving them easier since you can achieve small victories on a daily basis, and they'll add up to bigger ones down the road.

Best of luck!

I'm rooting for you

Dr. Paul

Keep going man! I am in the same situation as you! I have all the support from friends and family and I study too but yet i am not able to achieve the success i should be achieving. Its a struggle. It messes with your brain if you allow it too. I guess the only way out is to study study study and study hard! Giving up is easy. To keep going is challenging. I guess its "Challenge accepted"
