Info Information about Exam Cancellation

Hello everyone,
I'll get straight to the point, my eligibility period ends on Oct 31st 2013 and my sched date is oct 31st. I've already extended my eligibility period once and now if I want to get more time to study, I would have to re-apply and pay another fee for it.
I called ECFMG and that's what they told me. What I want to know is:

A) Would me canceling my appointment 7 days before the exam and end of eligibility period count as an incomplete attempt?

B) Is there a deadline for cancellation?

C) Is there a charge for cancellation?

D) In the email I got when i scheduled my exam it said, "SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT CANCELLED OR MISSED APPOINTMENTS: If you cancel your appointment within 30 days or do not appear on your scheduled test date, you must call the RRC as directed on your Scheduling Permit and pay the appropriate fee to reinstate your eligibility record before you can schedule a new appointment. You will not be able to perform any transactions via the web."
Can someone please explain to me what that means? and would this apply to me since I'm not extending my eligibility period I'm just registering for another permit all over again so I can get additional time AFTER the One time extension.

Fees and other communications do not apply to you because you already extended your elgibility period and no longer eligible.

So just don't go to the exam and that's it. No further action required.

This does not count as an attempt. To learn in details about this check StepTaker's post here
Cancelling the exam does not count as an attempt

Thank you. I'm going to cancel my appointment with prometric and re-apply after my eligibility period ends.
It sucks that I have to pay again but it's better to do that instead of risking going in with okay nbme scores.

Hey Ashok, you have till jan to study so if possible don't reschedule. But if you have to this is how long it will take you. You can re-apply for a scheduling permit 2 weeks AFTER your eligibility period ends (for you jan 31st) and after you reapply you will have to wait 3 weeks for ECFMG to process your application. so it will take a MINIMUM OF FIVE WEEKS AFTER YOUR ELIGIBILITY PERIOD ENDS to be able to book another date with prometric

thanks futuredoc 1987 .. ur absolutely right . I wrote later directly to ecfmg , they replied me the same answer ..it takes minimum 5 wks to reschedule nd I have to be sure now that it won't cost me in terms of "failed attempt" or "incomplete attempt " even after incase I donot attend the exam center atall ..if you know this please let me know

also, I think I need to give my 100 percents nd even more to attend 31st jan my exam..nothing is better than attending on that date , I feel . I really need to practice more of NBME from nov ..wish you a very good luck for ur exam .
