Question Questions about treatment in Step 1

I've been reading First Aid, and I frequently note that information regarding treatment is not present, whereas it is present in other places. For example, I just started GI and it doesn't at all mention anything about treatment of achalasia or Barrett's, whereas Goljan does. Since I haven't done any question banks (will start after I finish first aid), I don't know what the Step 1 focuses on. For those that have experience, are treatments not mentioned in First Aid just not important for Step 1, or is it that First Aid is very deficient in this aspect at least?

With the exception of pharmacology and microbiology Step 1 questions usually do not ask about treatments. Step 1 focuses on pathophysiology and basic concepts.

You'll get fed up with treatment questions in Step 2 CK

While it is true the Step 1 is more focused on the foundational basic sciences behind everything, as a medical student it is not a bad idea to also know the basic management of the highest yield pathologies (ie. Barrett's as you mentioned above). If you take the time to learn the histology, anatomy, physic, path, pathophysio, etc for every condition, then learning the basic management is like fitting in the last piece of the puzzle... and while you don't have to worry about complex treatment regimens, knowing certain treatment modalities such as a CCB is an effective treatment for corkscrew esophagus will come into play because they can ask you a myriad of questions about CCB's, but if they ask you in a way that requires you to know it is a treatment for corkscrew esophagus, then yes, knowing the treatment will be important.

Good luck.
