Thanks guys. I am an old IMG doing my postdoc here in US.

Books I read:
Goljian's rapid review (highly recommend), kaplan notes 2012 (just so so), kaplan video (highly recommend behaviral science and biochemistry), first aid (3 times total), MTB2

Q-banks: uw, kaplan, usmleRx
If you finished all three, you should get 245 easily.

nbme forms:
form 15: 252
form 13: 250
form 6: 247
form 7: 247
form 11: 257
form 12: 257
uwsim1: 265 (800)
uwsim2:265(800)

My real exam score fall in nbme form score range. Uwsim overpredicted your score especially if you did all questions in uw qbank.

Test day:
REMEMBER TO CHECK YOUR HEADPHONE IN TUTOR SESSION!
My headphone didn't work and I have to be moved to another computer. You know what? All the time that wasted during the whole process is counted. So I lost about 7 minutes!

I got some really difficult questions in microbiology and pharmacology. So keep finger crossed that you don't get too many such questions.

Behavioral science is more difficult than all q-bank questions. For some questions, I have to pick one from 2 or even 3 answers.

Overall, I think you can make to 250's if you do all 3 q-banks and know FA well. If aim at 260-270, you need more reading and LUCK.

Good luck to you all!

Sorry, really don't remember. I think it should around 15. SIM doesn't predict well if you already did uw q-banks.

hey don't worry. 224 is a decent score and there have been IMGs who have matched into IM with that score.. work hard and aim for amazing scores for step 2! you can do it.

log into IWA via ECFMG website.
on the main page, it should be under the header: Print/Reprint Documents

Mine only says IWA Document Submission Form (Form 187) now. My scheduling permit used to be there

hi! what does it mean by "ur school has not yet verified ur document"? does the school get a copy of our score first and have to verify it before ecfmg releases it to us?

i thought the verification was done during the registration for step 1 when we sent documents to ecfmg from our school.

hey man congratulations on ur big score
what seems like from ur NBMEs is that u cud have taken the exam in july then why dint u take it then when u were getting an awesome score in nbme
cz in 3 months apparently it dint improve
so what do u think is the reason behind it why did it it flatline after 250s
i m asking this cz i have my exam on 30th jan and im also on the 245ish line so i worry if i be able to add to it during the next 3 months

thnx

I mean this happens to graduates whereby ur diploma u sent is returned to ur med school for verification. At times schools delay with it and so results is not released until ur school verifies it for ecfmg. This happens between ur school and ecfmg so u may not be aware until u call ecfmg for the reason for the delay.

I think you still can increase your score to 250+ in the next 3 months. If you want a 260+ or 270+ you might need more than that and you also need luck. There will be some questions in the real exam that you never know how to answer no matter how many q-banks you did.

I feel genetics is more difficult than NBMEs. But I have a phd in medical genetics, so not too hard for me to answer. Behavioral science is the worst in my score report, almost hit boarderline. For some questions, I have to make decisions among 2 or even 3 answers. They all same damn right to me!

I think is quite different than most of people in this forum ....
since im a mom i started with four to six hours of study the first 3 months and then the last four i could make it to 8 hrs per day . FA 3 times , UW Qbank 70%
Never studied weekends except the last month .
It took me eight months and im sure i could score higher but i wanted to get rid of it so I could take the rest of the boards,
Confident to score higher in step 2 and will try to take step 3 before the 2015 IM match . ....
Thanks everybody for the kind words.
GOOD LUCK !

oh okay, yeah a phd in genetics would make things easy . I also did genetics from Uworld and the Kaplan Q bank...
