Hi everyone,
actually I'm little confused about the MS periventricular plaques, Kaplan qbank says "plaques with relatively preserved axons" and FA says "periventricular plaques with destruction of axons", so which one is true?? help me guys
uw also says preservation of axons, and i think that would be correct, coz its relapsing and remitting course in MS, so only myelin would be involved. :notsure::notsure::notsure:
typically it is preserved axon in acut plaques .
but in chronic plaques it will loss the axon.
to be in the safe side in the exam go for preserved axon
( Uworld )
F.A. 2017 - P. 493 - corrected this by mentioning "Periventricular plaques A (areas of oligodendrocyte loss and reactive gliosis) with preservation of axons."
