Bacteria Exotoxin A of Pseudomonas and Pyogenes

Even though both of these have exotoxin A, why is it that

1. Pseudomonas mechanism = ADP ribosyl transferase inactivating eEF2 and thus inhibitin protein synthesis
2. whereas, Pyogenes = Mechanism of TSST-1 inducing IL1, IL6, TNF alpha and gamma and therefore superantigen effect

Same toxin, different mechanism

thanks!!

Default

It's not the same exotoxin
Many bacteria have several exotoxins and they just name them A, B, C ...etc it's not only Pyogenes and Pseudomonas there are others such Diphtheria and Pertussis.
