Idea! Usefulness of reviewing NBMEs days before Step 1!

I was thinking of spending almost a full day a couple of days before my step 1 going through nbme 6 and above and going through all the questions again...

A lot of people comment on the repetition of concepts and questions and so I thought it might be a good way to review. I would REALLY appreciate advice from someone who's either taken the exam or knows from a friend about this strategy. I just figured it'd be a good way to go over HY info again.

PLEASE reply!! Thanks

I dunno about the usefulness of that. NBMEs dont give explanations, so at best you would just be memorizing a direct answer which isnt a good study technique. You're better off using a q-bank that gives a thorough explanation of why the answer is correct and the other choices arent.

I know they don't give explanations.. but you can find them online. For some, there are detailed answers where you can figure out why the other options are wrong even.

I just thought it'd be a good way to re-acquaint myself with the NBME question style and to go over the material that they think is highest yield...

Anyone else have any input?? I'd really appreciate it..

If you can get the ones with the explanations and all that jazz, then hey, go for it man! You can't go wrong by going over questions and explanations
