Kaplan Medical Overall average questions correct in Kaplan Qbank

Hi fellow doctors,
I am worried. I have finished with all the Kaplan videos and lecture notes. Read Goljan's Pathology Rapid Review but I am averaging 40% overall correct and have done 50% of the Qbank. (Kaplan)
I don't know if I should go back and redo lecture notes or is this normal?
I still haven't sat down with my FA.

what do you think? thanks everybody

The most common mistake i find in people preparing for step 1 is that they try to take the QBANKS as selfassesment tool. Dont do that. Look there are going to be two kind of people, those who have a previous good knowledge foundation and they will get better percantage of question right and the other kind are the people (like i was when i started qbanks) who have a weak foundation of basic subjects and will score low on qbanks. i did too when i did uworld the first time. But what i did was that i learned every new thing from uworld as if it were a book. I made notes, revised them over n again until everything was in my mind and i felt confident about those concepts and could recall them whenever i wanted. I wouldnot advice you to go over kaplan books again n again cause kaplans are supposed to give you basic concepts so that you can tackle questions betterly and learn from them. if you think another pass of kaplans could help then do that , BUT those 50% questions you didnt got right if you still didnt learned those concepts properly from explanations then THATS A HUGE MISTAKE my friend, the qbanks are for learning. And also i would advise to shift to uworld , its more like the real exam and more highyield topics usually tested

thanks, you are right about self assessment.
it is just frustrating at times to study so hard for so long and not improve in the Qbank.
I am planning on doing Uworld after I finish with Kaplan's Qbank.
thanks

Best of luck , hang in there . I started from scratch and ended up with a decent score. You will too , just keep learning from the Qbanks
