First Aid NBMEs and FA similarities

Hey,

I did NBME 5 offline yesterday (please don't comment on doing them offline...I have not taken Uworld, or studied Path/Micro properly). Anyway I got 22 incorrect and after checking FA I have the feeling that 90+% of the questions can be answered with FA 2013 as a source.

I believe that the people who write FA have taken a look at the NBMEs to see what is asked and added this information in the book? Can this suggestion be correct?

Is that the same for the newer NBMEs?

Hmmm I think so! These guys are great. I have just started FA 2013 and I feel like I was supposed to have done it earlier now I have few weeks left!

I have to say, FA has many many mistakes! and I hate its mnemonics.... BUT, for step 1 preparation is perfect!
Exam is very similar to NBMEs. I would say, >95% of the Qs are about topics that are at least mentioned in FA. FA it's obviously not enough, does not really explain anything, so one needs to integrate. But it's a great list of things that you need to know.
I think that if you remember and understand everyhting that is it in there.... you'll be totally fine!

Which edition of FA did u use?
And do u think the errata is enough to handle at least most of the errors?

I had both 2012 and 2013, and errata of both. I think it was enough....(for the mistakes I mean)
