Hey guys I was wondering how are the diamonds, square, and triangles are suppose to help you understand or remember Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia in FA 2013.
That's what I thought. Then I went down looking at the shapes and I was like WTF do I not understand the disease!
Hahaa
I'm not sure I think FA was going towards how would you first see the case? Like for the diamond pituitary would be the brain and later you go down to the parathyroid and then down to the pancreas?
I stared at it for a good 20mins wasn't sure if that's the right answer.
The diamond is pituitary at the top, parathyroid at the sides, and pancreas endocrine tumors at the bottom. The square and triangle i've modified from FA because FA leaves out Medullary thyroid CA on the shapes; The square would be medullary CA on one side, parathyroid on the other side, and then pheochromocytoma on the bottom 2 sides. The triangle has oral neuromas/marfanoid habitus at the top, and then medullary thyroid CA on the side slope, and pheochromocytomas on either side of the base.
