USMLE Scores How do they score the USMLE?

Hi Docs,
How scoring is done in usmle. If X scored 260, does this mean he answered 260 Q's correctly?
One of my friends told me that it depends on individual subject, suppose If I answer 260 Q's correctly and score zero in Genetics, my score goes down to less than 260.
Which is true in this case.

Nobody knows how they score the exam. There is no official disclosure of the scoring methodology and all what you read and hear is just speculations.

Many experts believe that questions have different weights (difficult questions more points and easy questions less points) and also it's highly likely that there are experimental questions (not counted in your score).
