Same day as Seraphim and me.. I wonder where our scores are then.. I guess everyone is on a different internal release schedule regardless of the date of taking the exam

Yeah, maybe different testing centers take different times to upload exams or something. The whole thing from start to finish is one big goddamn mystery, I dont see why it even takes this long given its a computer based exam.

That has to be the reason; also my computer froze during my exam (i was really scared after this..i was thinking whether or not i would be able to take the rest of the exam). They had to move me to another computer; luckily everything was saved and i seemingly didnt lose any time. The exam picked up right where it should have and i still had all my answers from the previous questions. I do know if stuff like this happens, a report is sent to the NBME and they have to check as to why it happened and how to prevent it, etc, etc.

Well, im starting to give up hope for today, looks like we just gotta do it all again next week....this has def been one of the weirder days ive had...sitting drinking beer clicking the refresh button on my email and oasis every few mins

This exam still comes back to kick your ass down even after youve finished with it.

i've been up since 6 am checking the email inbox on my phone and i've been looking at OASIS too; in fact i just looked at it, nothing new. Well you know what they say; good things come to those who wait and i guess we just have to wait a little longer.

my one last little nugget of hope is that on my oasis it still says "information current as of 7th Jan"...so they havent updated anything on my account yet.

We'll see!

I think imma call it a day. Chances of my score coming out within the next 45 min are slim to none. Besides, I don't think my F5 key can take anymore of a beating.

Thankyou Im just a little peeved because it was ten points lower than nbme 12. While Im aware its normal to drop that way, its still annoying lol. I know you will do great! your previous nbmes were all solid. Dont think about till wednesday. Watch ' breaking bad' or something

yeah i know my NBMEs are solid; but i just keep thinking about those questions i got wrong that i could have gotten right . It sucks that you knew the right answer but end up picking the wrong one anyways...or in that moment, you forget a fact or get confused and pick something else. Honestly even if i have a 10 point drop from my NBMEs, i wouldnt care cause it would still be in the 240s...

The problem is you remember I couldnt review most of my marked questions. I just finished in the nick of time. So after I was done, my friends asked me how it was and I couldnt even remember. If I did, I would probably panic too! So dont worry. Its very unusual to drop 10 points plus. Keep those stats in mind. I know you will do well!

If you guys took the exam on 12th or 13th December, your third Wednesday would be January 1st,ain't it? Why you guys didn't get your scores on January 1st itself then?

lol yeah actually the problem is that i remember, but i only remember maybe about 10-15 questions that i got wrong or i am unsure about...after that, the whole exam is a blur. I do remember questions i got right though, so thats a plus. Actually funny thing is, i was finishing each block with at least 20-25 minutes to spare. I think maybe a couple of blocks i only had 15 minutes to review or so.

Im assuming it didnt come on 1st coz its a holiday. Infact technically 25th dec to 2nd jan is holiday season. They didnt take that wednesday into account.

You are a master of time management! I had 2 min left for each block to review. Odd, coz Nbme 15, I had 15 min left for each block. I went into the center thinking im going to just take it really slow and not rush. Stupid mistake. Every question stem was so long I began to rush .

i think i became good at time management because i did all those NBMEs, even went over them again. I was very bad in the beginning though. Also doing U world over and over helps because it trains your mind to just pick up things quickly. I guess if the answers jump out at you, then time management doesnt become so much of a problem. There was some questions where i knew it would take time, so i left them for the end. Others, during review, took up several minutes because all the answers choices looked good and i was unsure which one to pick...which sucked .

I was so calm until i looked at the forum. I felt my neurons suffered from the mirroring effect. All the nervousness amongst fellow forum members rubbed off on me. I nearly passed out at one point. I suggest you forget about all this and do something fun. Anyway when you get an email saying your score is out you will panic. Why think now? Forget about it

i've actually been relaxing since my exam...i thought this week i would seriously start studying for CK; thats why i was hoping my score would be out this week. Even i was calm untill i looked at this forum...and then nobody got their scores for a while..then a few came in, and then finally yours now. I dont think many at all got their scores today..at least judging by the forum members. Honestly though, 244 is solid...you get a great CK score and you are set .

Bah. Another test to study for. Think of it as an extra holiday week. Your score will probably come next wednesday. So dont be a

haha yeah i know right; the exams never stop!! Lol i'll try not to be, but its hard because of how important the score is. One of my best friends, actually my classmate from India (I'm a USIMG and so is he), is struggling this match cycle cause of lower than expected Step scores .

IMG with US citizenship. Low score is like something below 230...yeah he is. Apparently according to him, its been really tough this year.

Ah! In that case, yes Im a USIMG too He should probably get into research/ shadow doctors for a year and he shouldnt have a problem. Or he can keep attending conferences and build a good doctor network. where did you graduate from?

oh he has done all of that, his CV is pretty extensive research wise..but from it looks like, scores are the most important thing.

Folks who didn't get their scores yesterday, what are you planning to do till next wednesday?

Also, is there any chance our scores might come on any days before the next wednesday? Just my little wish! :P

oh i think you know what we all thought of the exam in Dec; just check that thread and you will see what it is. It was tough man, not much of traditional physio and biochem...stuff was kind of mixed up and jumbled; lots of questions where all the answers or half the answers looked good so hard to narrow down. I definetly know i got one ECG question wrong soley due to the fact that i didnt know that there was that type of rythm. I had gone over all the ECGs in FA, but this one wasnt mentioned to my knowledge, but it is mentioned in the Step2 CK FA. I'm hoping it was an experimental question they tossed in just to see if people would figure it out or not.

i dont understand your first question.

NBME only puts out the scores on Wednesdays...they send the score to ECFMG and then we get it.

The answer is, no one knows. Whoever gave you the 15q number plucked it outta thin air. USMLE thrives on mystery.

FA said it can be about 15-20 percent of the exam not being scored. But how many questions that is, who knows. We dont even know as to if you miss such and such amount of questions, you will get this score, etc. All i know is that its graded on a curve (even though Conrad Fischer likes to claim that there isnt one), but how each question is graded, who knows...thats the mystery of this whole exam. My dad had a theory that each question is graded based on how others did; i.e lets say it was easy and you get it right, you dont get as many points..but if you get a hard one right, you get more points, relative to others.

yeah its 15-20 percent; not the number of questions. And we dont even know which ones are experimental, which ones arent. They could be easy, hard, or medium. Thats why they say answer everything and dont leave anything out.
