Drug Abrupt steroid cessation

Pt is taking steroid for a long time. after abrupt cessation of steroid use. what will be serum levels of endogenous steroid and ACTH?

The ACTH was chronically suppressed as well as there would also be atrophy of adrenal gland . So both the ACTH and Endogeneous Steroid level would be low

i know that adrenal will be atrophied...but are you sure about the ACTH? is there any source that can confirm this

i second truepassion.. taking exogenous steroids messes with HPA axis nd it kind of withers off..so whn u abruptly stop the exogenous intake.. the HPA axis & thus ACTH is no more in body nd therefore person can get cushing's..

HPA (Hypothalamic Pituitary Adrenal axis) is suppressed due to chronic use and it wont come back immediately
