Are they still coming out or did everyone get their results around the same time (about 20 mins ago)? I tested on the 20th and was expecting them today since I read about people who tested on the 13th and got them last week.

Congrats. To people who got their scores:
May you write your score and the at least number of mistakes you had in your test- if you have a good memory?

Don't ask that question, it is too speculative and won't help anything at all.

Peux UsmleUK do you mind posting your exam experiences and prep strategies?

Annotating Pathoma along with Goljan into my FA...good idea. I come across so many things that aren't in FA. Even though they might be low yield they can make a difference on the exam such as... Hand Christian Schüller or Letterer Siwe disease. What do you guys think..?

Sure, mine was quite simple:

Preparation: 3,5 months full-time

Book: First Aid
Work through once or twice first.
QBanks: USMLE World, Kaplan QBank
USMLE World: Whole bank once, marked questions a second time, question I answered wrong three times
Kaplan QBank: Same thing.
While doing the QBanks: Make notes in FA whatever is new or you didn't know in the QBanks. Paralelly repeat FA.

Kaplan QBank test exams Nr. 1 three weeks prior, Nr. 2 one week prior to exam
NBME: Only Nr. 15 2 days prior.

I know of two people who did it the same way, scores 261 and 265, apparently the very most important thing are the question banks(practice, practice, practice! - and yes, there are many things that are not in FA, but you will encounter them in the qbanks), forget about getting a whole arsenal of books. I read one experience here of a guy who did nothing but the question banks, didnt even touch a book once, score: 269.

If you were able to remember 200 questions out of a 300 question exam, you got nothing to worry about!

If I really look at the FA now (to remember ideas), I will probably remember 300 questions. But I really don't want because I was pissed of with the big number of silly mistakes I made out of the 200s questions I remembered.

I hope many folks can provide input on the at least number of mistakes they counted and their real score.

Again, congrats for you all!

I think Seraphim and Cysterna have to be promoted to USMLE marine sergeant. Getting the scores and still waiting, not yet having opened them...seriously, putting out a whole pack of burning cigarettes on your skin is peanuts in comparison.

Im a couple years post grad and far from the basic science, so i did a quick cursory read through kaplan LN, although i gotta say this was pretty light studying and made no attempt to memorize or fully learn stuff from it. I read through goljan patho once, but again I dont feel like it was that worthwhile

The bulk of my studying was from doing questions and reading, then re-reading / understanding / memorising First Aid (I went through it at least 5 times, pretty intensely, and tried to re-read the relevant sections while going over the qbank answer explanations) while going through the question banks. Totally agree with PneuX - the key is doing as many questions as possible while properly going through the explainations. In total i did about 9000 questions.

Thnax Penux for your experience.. can u please elaborate little more, 1. about ur background (are u a grad or student) 2.Regarding the technique of doing First Aid (in your first 2 reads) and also about the Qbanks-(did u do the subject wise or u did random, and also if u did subject wise were u reading the same section from first aid and then doing the questions for same section and annotating the first Aid?)

will be very thankful

After the exam i just remembered questions that i found hard or stuck out in my mind and looked up the answers, of these i counted around 12/13 which i got wrong...these were just questions that randomly i had remembered or bugged me...im sure there were some that i got wrong which i dont even remember or even thought id got right. Not worth stressing too much over!

To be honest I dont remember much lol. Its all just a blur and people tend to remember the questions they were unsure of, rather than the ones they knew. All I know is that when I left the exam I was pretty unsure. I even wrote about it in the thread about december test takers.

I got 237 I'm quite disappointed to be honest I was aiming towards 250's, I don't want to sound annoying but I'm an IMG. What are my chances of getting a spot? Congratulations to everyone with awesome scores : )

I got 237 I'm quite disappointed to be honest I was aiming towards 250's, I don't want to sound annoying but I'm an IMG. What are my chances of getting a spot? Congratulations to everyone with awesome scores : )
Well, congratulations on the fantastic score nonetheless!

The possibilities of you getting a spot into a residency program depend a lot on which specialty you are aiming for, however most of them ask for the national average or above (which turns out to be 227). That being said, the most competitive specialties such as IM, Surgery and sometimes FM and Pediatrics have average scores around 245-255.

Look, it's already done. Focus on getting nice scores on CK and S3, and passing CS in the 1st attempt. Good LoR will certainly help. But it's a nice score the one you got there.

Here, read this. It has just been released. http://www.nrmp.org/just-published-n...cal-graduates/ Just a quick one: Average score IM 245-255 is incorrect, its less.

That's exactly how I feel. I got 236 and I was really aiming for 250's. I did FA like 3 times and over 3000 questions. I just don't know how is this gonna affect the match in September

Thank you for your reply nathanlukew, I'm actually aiming towards IM, I hope that mean isn't gonna affect me : (

PneuX. Thanks so much for this it gave me hope : )

MomMD88, I know exactly what you're going through, it seems that we have acceptable scores but the disappointment is depriving us from the sense of accomplishment (((

I honestly wanted to prove something with a high score, I wanted to accomplish something and make myself proud, I'm Syrian and have went through hell lately but I guess I will have to kill step 2 and pass CS first attempt this month, I have 3 months of rotations and have done research with one publication so I hope that will help me.
Thank you all for your support you are wonderful : )

Congrats on your score MomMD. Actually, I was hunting for 250, but right now I am very disappointed. I counted more than 30 mistakes out of ~230 questions I remembered. I am really upset. Do you remember how many mistakes you counted for sure?

Also, I would like to know other inputs from people who counted their mistakes

I didn't do any counting really! I actually tried my best to stop myself from thinking about it. What is done is done.
It's time to focus on step 2 now! It's definitely smoother than step 1! Lets just be happy we are done with it

Thanks to a long and very complicated calculation, based on the information you gave us, the date, the position of the sun and the letters and their order in your username, your chance of getting your scores today appears to be 53%.
