Default Just not doing well

Hey guys, so I have been preparing for the Step 1 since beginning of October. I took an NBME to see my knowledge without any review from the first aid and went through kaplan really quick and my score was horrible. I have been studying and annotating into my first aid which is now completed and am in the review process. I did an NBME as my exam date was set to February 20th and still scored way below passing at 146. I realized its my 3 P's that aren't up to date so now I decided to do pathoma which is helping me greatly and physiology I just haven't reviewed since I first did it. My biggest problem is coming from Pharmacology. I just can't remember the drugs and what class they are and anything about it. It is my worst subject, so is there any suggestion you guys have on how to do it to make it as strong as possible? I've also been doing UWorld which is a great study tool but just something is not working for me. I have extended my exam to March 20th now and believe that it should be enough time but the NBMEs will let me know.

Please help, its just discouraging that after this many months of preparation I feel I haven't retained anything. I know it is common but according to my NBME score it's really showing and hurting my confidence.

Any advice is greatly appreciated, and of course happy studying and good luck to everyone!

Thanks!

try langes pharm flash cards; they are pretty handy. they got a little clinical vignette on one side and info about the drug on the other.

Either you repeat and repeat and repeat....especially pharmacology some parts I had to go through 7 or 8 times to finally remember it adequately. Another good way to remember hard things is to make stories oder mental pictures or poems or whatever from it which a human mind can retain faster. I found it hard in the case of pharma though since most of the terms were to abstract to visualize them effectively. Maybe you have a better hand for this.

yes i would suggest trying some different methodologies - i've heard a lot of good things about picmonic esp. with micro. theyre expanding their cards by a lot as well
