Psyche Mesolimbic and Nigrostriatal pathways inhibition

What is the difference between inhibiting dopamine receptors in the mesolimbic as opposed to the nigrostriatal pathways?

relieving psychotic symptoms vs inducing parkinsonian symptoms

note: when you block the mesolimbic pathway via typical antipsychotics (d2 receptor antagonists) you can cause a reflex increase in dopamine receptors on the nigrostriatal pathway...giving you tardive dyskinesia
