Default effect of changing extracellular K on resting potential..

In kaplan it is wriiten that if intracellur k is kept constant and extracellular k is increase then resting potential will be less negative..
Example ::
2.5mEq/L..............-108mv
5.0......................-90mv
7.5......................-79mv

But i read somewhere that resting potential is closely related to k concentration...Becus at resting potential cell is permeable to K so more k means
more negative resting potential will be..
Which statemnt is true??
